Had an old very scruffy Citroen/Peugeot van rack for about 10 years.
I had painted it with grey metal paint so that took some time to remove. Several cans of primer, Sable Bivouac (metallic baby poo) and lacquer it now matches the car.
A friend donated an old set of mahogany folding garage doors which were sawn, routed and sanded into slats. About 100 set screws, pipe clamps, nuts and washers and hours with a drill/driver.
I have put awning C rail on one side but it will eventually have both sides and need to make a tail piece with it so the awning should attach at the rear with Keder strip and .figure of 8.
Long post but I’m happy so far!
