Here is a post from the Motohome Madness website which really does sum up the change from those who formally owned a motorhome to the new trend of living in a van… We found this quite apt.
I’m not sure if anyone else agrees but here are my observations on the changes to motorhome owners over the last few years.
They want a free place to park overnight but there should be toilets, fresh water, waste disposal and EHU.
They want to be away from it all but a 5 minute walk to a beach, town, pub, shop.
Locals should be happy that they bring their money into the area but load up with food and drink at a big name supermarket.
They want to “do” France, Spain, Morocco, NC500 like it’s a tick list of things that must be done.
They want someone else to plan their route, places to stay and things to do.
They want to be “off grid” or “wild” but have their air fryer, coffee machine, microwave, wifi and uk tv.
They want us to “follow” their YouTube, instagram, TikTok or whatever channel so that they can earn money from it and we can see what they had for tea and how many time they take a poo.
Maybe I’m “old skool” but this was never what motor-homing was about before ?
