Listing for sale this beautiful example of a very well preserved original 1976 GMC Palm Beach Motorhome.
Originally from California, I imported it last year from a well known GMC shop in the USA. We flew into LA and drove its some 2000 miles down Route 66 to the port of Houston in which she managed absolutely spot on.
Believed to be almost all factory paint which we have spent a little over a week deep detailing, polishing to a glass finish and she looks amazing given shes 44 years old. She is a survivor coach with approximately 80000 miles on the clock and over that time she has been well cared for and maintained. The engine has been replaced with a brand new crate motor (455 olds) approximately 5000 miles ago, the transmission was rebuilt at the same time with new torque converter too. The suspension has been rebuilt with various new bushes, Bilstein shocks, the rear air suspension has had a slight update with fire stone air bags a few years ago, brakes front and rear within the last 10000 miles and as such drives absolutely amazing for a 44 year old coach. No road wallowing she drives nice and straight, picks up speed and will sit at 80 mph should you want to.
Body wise, she is remarkably clean given she wears her factory paint, a few paint blisters on the side panels and the odd war wound however over all shes a tidy bus, and has this week been treated to a 2 stage machine detail and sealant application including the roof. All the glass is in good order as are the window frames, factory stickers in great original condition too.
The interior is completely stock and thanks to factory window tints, the interior hasnt suffered any fabric fade minus the front clam seats slightly however these can be re died at a cost by us. The rest is as bright as it was when she rolled out of the dealership. The factory carpets have been deep cleaned and have come up like new, all of the seats have been high pressure blasted and steralized so are fresh and ready to be slept on. All the wood work has been treated to a coat of bees wax to freshen them up and have come up amazing and really vibrant,
The interior, a beautiful time capsule has the usual palm beach refinements such as
Electric water heater
Central heating furnace ( currently inoperative)
Swivel front seats
2 fold out double beds
Cooker and 3 ring hob
Rare and sought after twin swivel seats
Wet room toilet and shower
separate changing room
ample storage including full length wardrobe
on board lpg tank which can be filled at most petrol stations
plug sockets around the coach
factory 8 track player
speakers front and rear
fridge freezer which works absolutely great, kept our beers cold driving through the arizona desert
6000 watt onan generator thats only ran 202 hours and powers the entire coach enabling you to camp anywhere
The roof has a huge roof box, and ladders to get up there
two interior tables which are both removable
Brand new Dometic roof air conditioner
Various roof vents have all been replaced for new units, and the toilet is also a brand new ceramic toilet unused. i could talk so much about this coach but you really are better to come and see the time capsule for yourself. She even has all of her original warning labels fitted too !
Price is £28500 with a uk MOT and can be registered for you. This is a cracking deal for such an original bus. Located in Cornwall UK ready to drive and camp anywhere
