Road to Green – Electric Van Leasing

As part of the “Road to Zero”, the Government, along with select providers, are increasing the volume of electric charging points. There are now 16,785 charging points in 5857 locations – we often get asked about how many electric charge points actually exist in the UK.

Clearly, this is a little less than the 67,000 or so petrol pumps across 8500 locations but electric points are very much on the increase. Add to this is a further £20m funding for hydrogen technology and more investment into renewable energy sources (Nissan and Tesla are looking at home solar systems for vehicles).

The Government are supporting home infrastructure by offering up to £500 for a charger and any installation costs. For workplaces, up to £500 is available per socket (capped at a max of 20) for those employers now looking at electric car schemes. Furthermore, until March 2020, OLEV are offering £4.5m funding for any on-street charge points for local residents. This includes up to £7,500 for any charge point installation.

The UK electric car market is now growing. Main van finance companies, now have 15,000 ultra-low emission vehicles on fleet. Additionally, they are offering our customers £1000 for any zero emission vehicles ordered in 2020. With these types of initiatives and continued production/investment into batteries, the future definitely looks greener.
